The UCF '07-'18 JK Transfer Case Skid is laser cut from 3/16" (or 1/4") carbon steel plate.
The 3/16" skid plate weighs only 45lbs (or 60lbs for 1/4") and provides much more protection than the stock piece. Its reinforced along the back and inboard edge to maintain rigidity so that it can support the entire weight of the Jeep.
The mount at the fuel tank is recessed to allow a smooth transition off the skid at the back. Button head bolts maintain a smooth bottom surface and prevent snagging on rocks and limbs. We cover the exposed area of the fuel tank with our transfer case skid to provide greater protection than stock. Steel transfer case skids will be shipped bare of any finish and will require painting or powder-coating by the installer.
