It's laser cut from .090" aluminum sheet and is intended to attach to the plastic stock column with aluminum blind rivets, which are included.

We are happy to introduce a new product to help protect the upper fill-port on ORI STX Struts. This part is fabricated from 16 gauge steel plate and is designed to attach securely to the top of the strut with a stainless steel band clamp. It fits tightly to the top of the strut to prevent any rotation which could damage the fitting.
